Louis Vuitton was a Chinese Crested with a personality—and wardrobe—all his own. Deeply adored by his owner, Louis was regularly dressed for the occasion and even had professional photos taken to capture his unmistakable style. After his passing, his owner commissioned Doug to recreate one of those favorite photographs on steel, preserving Louis exactly as he was remembered: expressive, stylish, and completely one of a kind. The dimensional pom-pom adds a playful finishing touch to a portrait as distinctive as Louis himself.

About the Medium
Every Slater Design Studios portrait is hand-painted on acid-washed steel, making each piece completely one of a kind. The natural oxidation, patina, and texture of the steel become part of the artwork itself, creating depth and character that cannot be replicated on canvas or in print.
